![]() Call me crazy, but today I started a project with the entire student body of the Roberts Elementary School in Medford to make a 12 x 7 foot mosaic in two weeks! The students came up with several great concepts in their art classes, and the final idea that was chosen to mosaic is "The Many Cultures of the Roberts School." The student body is wonderfully diverse, identifying at this time with 39 countries. The design includes the flags of all these countries and features a tree whose leaves will contain the names of all the countries. Today art classes in grades 1, 2, and 3 worked on areas of grass, sky, flags, and tree. Check back in tomorrow to find out about our progress on Day 2! The project has been made possible by a STARS grant from the Mass Cultural Council, a gift from the Medford School Committee, and a grant from the Medford Arts Council. Comments are closed.
